After a
challenging construction period, WAX and Summit Landscape have delivered front
and rear gardens for the Beaumont residence that offer visual
interest and create usable spaces for the client.
The design
for the sloping rear of the site creates a series of living spaces. Juxtaposing
the natural grade, linear stone walls are creatively located to interrupt the
gradient and craft usable levels. Three distinct levels allow for larger entertaining,
intimate seating and a productive garden through the elegant response to the
site.
The front landscape sees strips of
corten steel creating terraced levels of lawn that shape green extensions to
the blue stone entry steps to the house across the site. The landscapes linear
composition creates a strong visual language responding to the architecture
allowing a smooth transition between it and the landscape.
