Mitcham Residence Garden Design

A new architecturally designed home on a sloping site required careful consideration and collaboration with the client to provide the best design outcomes and to maximise the potential of the space, whilst complimenting the built form.

A series of locally hand crafted sandstone walls travel down the site, interspersed with an inlaid pebble pathway and surrounding linear bands of mass plantings are overlaid with a grid of deciduous trees. The pathway leads you to a paved entertaining platform at the lower end of the garden, which can be observed from the counter levered swimming pool that sits above.
A corten and stainless sculpture can be viewed from all aspects of the garden, including pool and acts a focal point and linking element to the different areas of the garden.

A productive area of raised garden beds is adjacent the family lawn area and surrounded fruiting trees which screen the boundary.
